1. It is important for the election workers and the polling agents of candidates to ascertain your identity, so that no imposter can vote on your behalf.
  2. The election clerk will ask for your IC, and ask that you remove your face mask. He/she will then read out your IC number loud, and cross/make a mark on your name in the electoral roll. The respective candidates’ polling agents will also cross out your name or mark it on their list.
  3. The candidates’ polling agents can challenge your identity and ask to see you IC. In this situation, it is for the Ketua Tempat Mengundi (KTM) to make a decision.
  4. If you are not allowed to vote despite your explanation, you are advised to take down all the details of the event and consult a lawyer. Video/ audio recordings/ documentation is advisable.
